Guess who arrived 2 days and 8 hours ago?
🤔
That's it. Mr S...
I wanted to write about his arrival right on that day when he showed up, but as he will anyway stay with us for the next three months, I thought there was no hurry to announce it right away. Today is also a good day for that.
Though I must admit that our visitor was a bit impatient. As a little revenge for skipping the announcement of his arrival, he made a little mischief with me today. He heated up the temperature in the kitchen so extremely that the piece of chocolate I was about to break off melted between my fingers the second I touched it. Well, I thought, I shouldn't even eat chocolate because I've been sick to my stomach for most of last week. The only food that I could digest without much pain was plain yoghurt and rice crackers. And so on for days until I felt a little better over the weekend. To vary it a bit, I made some apple compote (fake compote as I omitted sugar...) and put it in the fridge.
Actually, I can recommend it for these hot days while Mr Su... is here; it is so refreshing to eat chilled compote boiled apples, like eating natural ice cream but made from only one ingredient. Apples.
What is not made from just one ingredient are cocktails. With or without alcohol (maybe better without), in any case, they are a good complement when you meet someone to chit-chat or spend time together. Mr Sum... will certainly make sure that you have a little more time for that because the days are quite long and the time for socialising naturally imposes itself. I have a few pending meetings with some people from the same profession as me, and right now, as I am writing this post, we are trying to figure out the place where to meet and talk about the music scene in the area where we live and work. I suggested the place where one can have exactly this kind of refreshment.
I hope that I won't need a hand fan when I meet those other pianists in a few days, that the night when we meet will be nice and cool, and that we will agree in our conversations because we are here to collaborate and help each other. Regardless of that, Mr Summ... made me search for this fan yesterday afternoon. Last August, when we had the monthly theme in the Hive Collectors Community about handheld fans, I couldn't find this one. It usually happens when I make those posts about collections, I usually find the missing pieces of the collections later...
Luckily, I had some fans in that post that I bought for my mom and mother-in-law as gifts... Btw, I still don't know whether we will travel to see them in the next two months or not. Usually, Mr Summe... offers us that time to travel and visit our families. It depends on a certain health situation that needs to be resolved, and maybe we should travel to another country where our son might go on Erasmus... Time will tell.
What is certain is that these places where one can find water and pebbles/rocks/sand are here for us. Mr Summer is a steady visitor year by year, and he definitely knows how to arrange the weather for going to the beach, although sometimes he is a bit overdoing it with high temperatures like these last few days. But that is fine, it is his time to shine and show his power.
The Summer Vibes community was born last summer, kind of unexpectedly and without any particular plan. I don't do challenges or weekly/monthly topics here... but since we are all about summer, any summer-related topic is welcome if you want to use the community.
As I wrote in my first Summer Vibes post last year:
...we can share our thoughts, feelings, habits, pleasures, experiences, trips to the beaches or rivers, summer concerts, walks, ideas for summer lunches, your plans for the summer, books you want to read this summer, your favourite summer songs, movies you watch on late summer evenings but also frustrations about the heat! Everything is legit.
