I've been thinking for almost a month now to write a post about my visit to a great Aqua Park and Spa in Romania.
However, writing that post was very difficult for me, because the road to the place where the Aqua park is located, led me past the Deliblatska peščara, where fires have been burning for a month and where the locals of the surrounding villages are fighting the fire element that has so far swallowed more than half of the forest.
The scale of that destruction was best shown by @bil.prag in his post about the fire in Deliblatska peščara.
If you look at some of the vides he shared, you will understand why it was inappropriate for me to share photos from an Aqua park.
A large amount of water is in the pools and is used for entertainment, and 100 km away the sky and the earth are on fire, because there is no water...
However, as that Aqua Park is located in neighboring Romania, in Timisoara, and two days ago (21.08), teams of firefighters with firefighting equipment arrived from Romania (and Germany, Slovakia...) to help put out the forest fire, with this post I want to repay my Romanian neighbors and recommend a really great place to relax and enjoy a day by the water ❤️❤️❤️
Amazonia Aqua Park is located outside the center of Timisoara, on the way to the airport.
It consists of a closed complex, which is a great choice in the winter months, because you can enjoy the warm water of the indoor and outdoor pools even when the outside temperature is below zero.
In the spring of 2023, as well as a few months later, the outdoor pools with water slides, the popular Jungle section, were opened.
The water in the Jungle outdoor pools is cold and very refreshing and pleasant on a hot summer day.
The inner part of the complex has a large adventure pool with an artificial Amazonia park in the middle of the pool.
There is a children's pool, slides, a restaurant, as well as a swimming pool, next to a pool with thermal water of over 40°C.
Entering those pools with warm thermal water, when it's over 30°C outside, is not that pleasant.
When I go in the water, I like to go in to cool off, if it's hot out, or to warm up if it's cold out.
However, when it's hot outside, it's not very pleasant to step into very hot water.
That's why I enjoyed the cold water of the outdoor pools this time.
I swam but avoided going down the slides.
Although I love it, I didn't have company and I hated climbing so many stairs, waiting in line and jostling with the kids (ie taking their turn🙂).
I found a position that I could enjoy.
The hydro massagers in the pool with thermal water, next to the Pool Bar, were ideal for relaxation until the complex was full, and after that, relaxing on the sunbeds in the cold water, on the cascading pools, as well as on the sunbeds under the umbrellas...
We found accommodation under a huge umbrella, right next to an open bar, where refreshments were readily available.
At some point, I walked around the complex, took photos of all the pools and slides, visited all the sunbeds, saw where the Food Court's are, where you can refresh or feed yourself and besides the #summervibes I felt at every step, I also came across a few benches, which reminded me of the #HiveCollectors theme "Bench" for July.
A neat, well-organized, clean complex, with excellent pools with thermal water, as well as with cold water in the summer Aqua park, was the right choice for a warm summer day.
I didn't want to pay extra for access to the Spa area, because I didn't need saunas and massages on such a hot day.
Swimming and being in the hidromasages was enough activity for me, so I'll leave the spa treatments for another time, when I'm here over the winter.
An interesting fact for those who accept my recommendation and decide to visit this complex - if you decide to do so during the summer, when it's a sunny and warm day, you can buy a ticket only for the outdoor Aqua Park, Jungle at a price of €14.
In summer, there is no need to buy a complete ticket, but if you planned to come in winter, the price of the ticket to access the closed part of Amazonia is €25 (and includes the Jungle Zone, which you definitely cannot use in winter). And for just €7 more, you can also afford access to the Spa area.
If you come by car, you have a spacious, well-organized parking lot, at a price of only €5 for a whole day's stay.
I really liked Aqva Park Amazonia and I will definitely visit it again, either while the #summervibes are still felt, or in winter, when Themisvar is covered with snow, and when there are no fires that destroyed a large part of the territory of Banat, the Deliblatska peščara.
