Found my kind of colour 🌸🧡

Sometimes, the best garden inspiration comes when you’re least expecting it.

कभी-कभी बगीचे के लिए सबसे अच्छी प्रेरणा हमें तब मिलती है, जब हम उसकी तलाश भी नहीं कर रहे होते।

A few days ago, I was visiting a friend’s house when I noticed a beautiful splash of colour in their garden. At first, it was just the warm colour that caught my attention. The flower had this lovely mix of coral, peach, and soft pink, almost like the colours you see in the sky during golden hour.

कुछ दिन पहले मैं एक दोस्त के घर गई थी, तभी उनकी बगिया में एक खूबसूरत फूल पर मेरी नजर पड़ी। सबसे पहले उसका गर्म और प्यारा रंग मेरा ध्यान खींचने लगा। उस फूल में कोरल, पीच और हल्के गुलाबी रंग का बहुत सुंदर मेल था, बिल्कुल वैसा जैसे सुनहरी शाम के समय आसमान में रंग दिखाई देते हैं।

It was a single-flowered Dahlia, and I honestly couldn’t stop looking at it. I have always been drawn to warm, sunset-like colours, so this one immediately became my favourite thing in the garden.

वह एक सिंगल-फ्लॉवर्ड डहेलिया था और सच कहूं तो मैं उससे अपनी नजरें हटा ही नहीं पा रही थी। मुझे हमेशा से गर्म और सूर्यास्त जैसे रंग बहुत पसंद हैं, इसलिए यह फूल देखते ही मुझे बहुत अच्छा लगा और वह उस बगीचे की मेरी पसंदीदा चीज बन गया।

When you think of Dahlias, you might imagine those big, full flowers with layers and layers of petals. This one was completely different. It had just one neat row of broad petals around a bright yellow-orange centre.

जब हम डहेलिया के बारे में सोचते हैं, तो अक्सर बड़े और घने फूलों की तस्वीर दिमाग में आती है, जिनमें पंखुड़ियों की कई परतें होती हैं। लेकिन यह फूल उससे बिल्कुल अलग था। इसमें चौड़ी और मुलायम पंखुड़ियों की सिर्फ एक सुंदर कतार थी, जिसके बीच में चमकदार पीला-नारंगी रंग का केंद्र था।

I also loved how the coral shade changed slightly depending on the light. In some places, it looked more peachy, while in others, the pink tones were more noticeable.

मुझे यह भी बहुत अच्छा लगा कि रोशनी के हिसाब से इसका कोरल रंग थोड़ा बदलता हुआ नजर आ रहा था। कहीं यह ज्यादा पीची दिखाई दे रहा था, तो कहीं इसमें हल्का गुलाबी रंग ज्यादा नजर आ रहा था।

Apparently, Dahlias like plenty of sunlight and regular watering. They also grow well in loose, well-draining soil. With the right care, they can keep producing flowers and bring plenty of colour to a garden.

जहां तक डहेलिया की देखभाल की बात है, इन्हें अच्छी धूप और नियमित पानी पसंद होता है। ये ढीली और अच्छी तरह पानी निकालने वाली मिट्टी में भी अच्छी तरह उगते हैं। सही देखभाल मिलने पर इनमें लंबे समय तक फूल आते रहते हैं और ये बगीचे में खूब सारे खूबसूरत रंग भर देते हैं।
