OLD BARN № 057

This old barn is on Poderosa Road in Pickens County (SC, USA), which makes me think of the Ponderosa Ranch in the old Bonanza television series. My family liked that show, which ran from 1959 until 1973, one of the longest-running series shows on television!

This barn certainly lacks the grandeur of the barns of the Old West days, but is still lovely and serving a good purpose for this owner. I'm not sure if horses are kept on this homestead, but a recent peek at an aerial photo suggests that a circular area near the barn has been fenced-in, forming a ring that might be used for training horses and/or riders.

As is the case with so many barns in this county and adjacent ones, plenty of wooded areas and fields are nearby, creading a lush carpeting of greenery in aerial photos.
