OLD BARN № 053

This little barn was found in a field where horses were happily grazing along Wolf Creek School Road in Pickens County, SC (USA). It was such a charming sight, but I didn't get the horses in the photo because they were quite a distance from the barn, and in a different direction. I like the old, rusted farm gate adjacent to the structure, which provides humans access to the area behind, while keeping the horses in the field.

There was another old structure behind this barn, but I could not quite decide whether it was another barn or an old homestead. I did not know whether I should have cataloged it as Old Barn № 054 or not, and it was a little difficult to see through the trees partly obscuring it. So I refrained, and another building will have that distinction.

Of course, as small a barn as this is, the other structure might have actually been another barn or shed for maintaining the homestead. Perhaps I will go back out there some day to have another look, and maybe see the horses again. 🐴
