"You are the four winners, congratulations, it was all broadcast live."
"What happened to the girls who disappeared?" asked Sally.
"They're fine, the audience voted, and they were taken off stage while you were sleeping."
Melissa responded along with a slap.
"How dare you put us under so much stress, who do you think you are? You keep your prize. I'm out of here." -

Anticipating Worries above 35.000 feet

One day while I was studying in my fifth semester, I received a scholarship for an off-island exchange student. I was over the moon and enthusiastic about it. I quickly prepared my belongings, clothes and other personal items. While re-registering, I was surprised by an overwhelming feeling of worry, as I realized that the transportation used was an airplane. All my ecstatic feelings were replaced with anxiety. I'd never even been on an airplane before in my life, this would be my first experience traveling in a huge machine flying at 35,000 feet carrying people.
I can't describe how muddled my mind was as departure approached.

The Fear Of The Coronavirus 😬
At that moment I was so confused because I could remember just the other day,I was all good without catarrh or high temperature. I began to wonder why and how all this sprang up just while I was asleep...I must tell you I began to over think most especially,because the symptoms were part of what my friend listed the previous day. I wanted to isolate myself without letting my parents know why but then I summoned courage to let them know how I was feeling. We were all tensed up that they, but then my mom was bold enough to take me to the hospital for a check-up. The results showed I was just suffering from typhoid and malaria.
I have never been as relieved as i was that very day😅. that very day I was so happy it was just malaria and typhoid, not coronavirus which was my greatest fear at that time. I could also tell my mum was so relieved to see the results too...likewise my dad and siblings 😅😅. -

"Babe, guess what? Austin just posted on his WhatsApp status that he'd be streaming the reality show in his house and neighbors are free to come by with their friends," Nelly said with a smile on her face.
"You mean Austin, the Yahoo guy that lives next compound?" Chinelo asked her, expecting a confirmation for an answer.
"Yeah, that's him. We'd go together this evening to watch the show in his house; I've already dropped a comment on his post," Nelly said.
"For sure, we die there" Chinelo replied with excitement.
What a relief for them as they trekked home excitedly. Immediately after they got home, they uploaded their status in the various social media handles, anticipating for 7:00 p.m, the kick off time for the show.
"As much as I'm dying to watch this show, I'm skeptical about going to Austin's house; he's a fraudster, for God's sake, and you know what such a person is capable of doing" Chinelo said to Nelly.-

Maybe She Should Be Called 'Stormy'

She thought about her husband. Her sweet-faced David, who had shown her unconditional love, and had stood by her side at the worst of times. When she’d found him or rather he, her, she thought that the heavens had finally decided to smile at her. That she would finally have a happy life, for the first time in forever.
She remembered their last conversation. She wondered why he'd brought it up. She knew now.
"Sometimes I want a better life," David began.
"But what's wrong with our life now?" She'd said, surprised at the twist in the happy conversation they had been having.
"I don't know.... sometimes I feel like my whole life's been a waste."
"You think I'm one of the wasted aspects of your life?" She'd muttered, her voice breaking.-

Damn peacock— a beauty she is! Her feather captivates, her dance mesmerises, and the crown on top of her head reigns.
Hmm, that’s right, the crow must be a peacock— it has to disguise itself perfectly so nobody will notice and it can secretly slide into the flock.

I started to feel my insides churn. Soon my fingers began to hurt. Before my eyes, my nails turned into claws. My skin became covered by thick brown fur. I fell to the ground on all fours. It felt like I was going to explode. I let out a cry. The sound came as a loud howl. When I looked up. I saw a white wolf gazing at me with deep brown eyes. I knew those eyes very well. She never really disappeared. She only became the words she spoke. “Solara! This is our spirit, the root, and the protector. When you find it in the forest, you'll find yourself. Embrace it. It is who we are.”-
