In this post, we'll provide the prompt for the coming week.
We ask that you read our Creative Nonfiction Tips post to learn about the creative nonfiction genre and review our guidelines.
Important notes:
Thank you to all who participated in last week's prompt : Steal someone's thunder
Highlighting @iskawrites, with the story:
The best of the best days as I can recall is the day every single thing worked out perfectly; What made it even more special was that it was just a random day. Birthdays and other celebratory days have a way of just being special, whether there's something attached to it or not but this particular day was effortlessly special without any strings attached.
Curator's comment :
@iskawrites brings a nicely written CNF about how she experienced the best day of her life.
Highlighting @Phyna, with the story:
I watched her read to the end and answered the questions thrown at her by the teachers and students. A few minutes later, it was my turn to read my manifesto. I walked to the podium and took the microphone. I was still wondering what to say when my eyes met Stella's; she made a praying sign with her hand, and I sighed.
Curator's comment :
Phyna recounts an incident of theft. The piece is well written and nicely resolved. Quality writing!
Highlighting @George-dee, with the story:
Wale called me the baby of the class, and it became a trend among my classmates. Only a few of them didn't refer to me as that. Solomon stopped studying with me, and he started spending more time with Wale, both in school and after school.
Curator's comment :
George-dee does a very good job of describing his feelings while watching his friend's grades dissolve into nothingness due to a unsavoury character's influence. An absorbing read!
Cambridge dictionary's definition:
If you support or stay with someone through thick and thin, you always support or stay with them, even if there are problems or difficulties: She has stuck with me through thick and thin.
