Highlighting @loveth97, with the story:

My siblings and I smiled because to us this information meant more enjoyment. The events that took place, however, wiped the smiles off our faces. We watched confused as my cousins hurriedly switched off the television, my aunt rushed in and told us to clear the toys and tidy the parlor.
Curator's comment :
loveth97 writes a delightful story about discovering that her favorite uncle who brings gifts when he visits is draconian and terrible in his own home when she goes to visit.
Highlighting @popurri, with the story:

I felt the blood rush to my head. I couldn't believe it, my two friends were leaving me behind. I was not only upset but also, sorry. A feeling of shame came over me as I internally thought that I was not a talkative or fun person and that was the reason why I was not invited.
Curator's comment :
On the day highlighted in this story, two men approach the women's table. The men obviously are interested in Popuri's friends. These two women are invited to a party and tell Popurri that she will be going home alone. Popurri is embarrassed and hurt because they have left her out and have shown disregard for her feelings. However, as she travels home and regards the scenery, she realizes that being left out doesn't matter so much to her. She reflects that she wouldn't have wanted to go to the party anyway. By the time she reaches her home, she is at peace and no longer resentful of her friends. It's a great, sensitive piece.
Highlighting @iskawrites, with the story:

We ordered mocktails while waiting for their infamous fried rice which I ordered to be prepared. Everything was prepared in front of us. By the time the food was ready, I was so excited that I couldn't wait to start eating.
Curator's comment :
As the minor tug of war over eateries ensues, we are given a bit of humorous insight into iskawrite's culinary preferences and her habits. It's really well written and has a great first line.
Highlighting @storygoddess, with the story:
I stood by the window and stared at the beautifully decorated sky. The stars were actively shining, and the big round moon stood right at the center shining its light on the dark earth. Everyone was asleep, and the toads were out with their noise yet again. The green-water reservoir beside our house was their abode. The mosquitoes flew and danced happily around the tiny room perching on the skin of whoever they found attractive among my sleeping siblings in the overcrowded room.
Curator's comment :
She shared this story with sensitivity and brought the reader into intimate moments of reflection and prayer.
Highlighting @nancybriti1, with the story:

Without realising it, and inflated by the things my friends told me, their parents became the perfect and ideal figures that I wanted to have as a family, and my own parents became the villains of the story.
Curator's comment :
Nancybriti1 has a remarkable gift: she writes with fluidity, incorporates symbolism and offers a relatable theme, all with a style that "teaches" without being in any way didactic; in fact we are entertained by her writing most of the time! This CNF about finding pride in her poor family through the symbolism embodied in an old pair of shoes, is sublime!
Highlighting @abdul-qudus, with the story:
I was happy for him, but I also wished to hit that jackpot. I became jealous, but I tried to control it. Julius packed up from his hostel and went to get a nice apartment. He furnished his room very well and also bought nice clothes and fancy shoes. Julius became the talk of the street.
Curator's comment :
@abdul-qudus writes a CNF in which he describes how he looked for new possibilities to support himself while studying at the university. Participating in the Steemit platform, in the beginning, helped him improve his life. Heartfelt story.
Highlighting @lightpen, with the story:

My arrival outside the house was welcomed with the presence of highly armed policemen. About two vans were parked with scary-looking policemen standing in strategic positions. Crowds gathered to feed their eyes on the development.
Curator's comment :
Lightpen writes a very interesting and well written CNF story about a very good friend he envied for having nicer things and more resources. Meanwhile, his own parents focused on hard work. One day it was revealed very dramatically that the wealth of his friend's father was gained through illegal means, and he realized how much he appreciated his parents' integrity.
