Laughter at Mass

We took sandwiches, soft drinks and snacks to eat and did not return until sunset to see the sun on the horizon and listen to the sound of the warm sun touching the water. Imagination made that possible.

Curator's comment :

The author writes descriptively, bringing us into her world, and the part-time holiday home on the beach. The weekend feels idyllic... and then they are informed that they must attend Mass. They go out of respect for the aunts but Alvaro who is comedic, makes them all start laughing in church, and they are forced to leave before being ejected. Fortunately, the aunts let it slide and they are welcomed back for future visits. This was a very enjoyable read.

Mr Contraband

I was the first to alight. The military men, once in uniform and wielding ammunition can be very unruly. I don't want any of their troubles. Like a sheep that was being led to the slaughterhouse, I stepped out of the car. Then, the corporal was joined by another of his colleagues. They searched the trunk of the car.

Curator's comment :

MrEnglish offers an excellent, laugh-a-minute CNF. He tells us about being stopped by military police who harassed him and his traveling party. He was asked to "show" his goods to which he replied by delivering the contents of his pocket : condums. Nicely told!

The world on our heads

Mr. Adegoke made sure we bought a practical map in addition to the geography textbook we had. We thought it was a child's play when he started with us. Our first class was nothing short of humorous, as Mr. Adegoke, having a seemingly conical bald head, readily volunteered himself as a typical mountain top as described in our textbooks. It was fun as he demonstrated different parts of his head as the peaks and lows of mountains.

Curator's comment :

Jjmusa2004 writes a solid CNF in which he reminisces about a teacher who employed fun tactics to teach difficult concepts. The teacher taught geography and as a result of his unusual methods, J excelled in the subject and later used similar strategies to educate his own students.

From the worst to the best

That's how I got to high school, and as I got older, my hyperactivity also increased. I was the smallest in the group, so I had to be on guard against constant attacks from my classmates with teasing phrases or funny nicknames. My excessive talking turned into mischief, and little by little I began to commit misdemeanors that merited more than a simple call for attention. I always managed to get away with all these things, until the experience of the ninth year of high school came along.

Curator's comment :

cajiro writes an off-prompt CNF about his childhood and how he was a good student but very mischievous and always getting in trouble. Charming and nicely told.
