Recently I've started collecting more information and reading a lot on the topic of healthy eating and veganism, so much so that I'm trying to eat vegan as much as possible, at least when I'm home. Since eating a well-balanced and healthy diet has always been difficult for me (I could survive on chocolate only!), I've been looking for something to help me make sure that I get all the most important nutrients.

In a FB group for dancers centred on health, I came across an app called Daily Dozen, and I can definitely recommend it to all of us who don't want to die. I can hear you go "wtf is she talking about??", but bear with me :D
The app was developed by Dr. Greger, the brilliant author of the best-seller How not to die. He identified the healthiest foods everyone should include in their diet to achieve optimum health. The app provides an easy way to keep track of these food groups, providing examples of the servings one should consume and of the foods included in each category.

The app is compatible with Android and iOS and has a very straightforward interface. When you open it, it shows you a list of the categories that you can just tick off.

I particularly like the fact that water and exercise are also listed, as well as Vitamin B12 and D, which are especially important for anyone eating plant-based.

If you click on the calendar icon, you can check how you're doing for each category, while clicking on the small graph icon on the right hand corner will show you a graph for all the categories.

I've only been using this app for 2 days, but it's definitely helping me eat a more nutrient-dense and healthy diet. Yesterday, for example, I realised I hadn't had any greens nor beans, so I made myself this nice plate for dinner:

Hope you found this review helpful! I will definitely make a book review as soon as I'm done reading it. Does anyone know this app? What other apps can you recommend for healthy eating?
