My name is Mark and I am totally new on Steemit so I hope that you will all welcome me.
As an investor, there are many things you can invest in. Some things are more complicated than others. Some things are more risky than others. The absolute best advice I have come across is:
Knowing (at least on a general level) what I am investing in, I also have a better gut feeling and I understand my risk. And I think it's the lack of understanding that stops many from getting started. It is not cool to feel insecure, especially when it comes to one's hard-earned money. And it will always be expensive to lose money, but I only invest what I can lose and I am long term. That is, I have a number of years where I can just wait for the market to turn if and when a possible fall in stock prices comes.
