PIZZA Guild Brawl Report #16 - Fallen Angel

The countdown has begun for the newest Promo card being released by Splinterlands. Only 6 days remain until Splinterlands history is made. Introducing the first ever Dual-Element Card:

Zyriel

First and foremost, I love the art of this card. You really get the fallen angel vibes from her. Her eyes just pierce you with her malice. She will also be the first non-Soulbound card to have Weapons Training, providing some of that monster 5 Ranged attack to any ally around her that doesn't have any attack. I'm looking at you Warrior of Peace, Evelyn Aurvera, Riftwing, and Will-O-Wisp.

Now one thing you have to consider here is the price. Listed at 80k DEC, she is easily out of the price range of many smaller accounts. Even if you use Vouchers to their fullest, you'll still need to hand over 40k DEC to go with 160 Vouchers for each BCX of this card. And, if you're a smaller account, you probably don't have 160 Vouchers laying around. On the otherhand, the nice thing about this promo is she's being sold by the BCX. Prior Legendary Promo cards were sold as fully maxed cards for a much higher price. That means if you can't afford a fully maxed card, you can still get a Lv. 1-3 card if it fits your budget.

Battle #1 - Win
Ruleset - Unprotected / Stampede / Melee Mayhem

While my opponent goes with 2 very strong attacking monsters, I spread my damage out over 6 monsters. This ends up working to my advantage and I finish this off quickly in 3 Rounds

Battle #2 - Win
Ruleset - Unprotected

I was extremely close to losing this one. I had more attackers, but only 2 could do any sort of damage to Antoid Platoon. That left me 1 HP left on my Xenith Archer to clear out Antoid, or else I'd be toast. Fortunately, I got the final hit in leaving their Lava Spider as the last remaining monster, and being ranged meant they couldn't attack. All that was left was to chip away at it's remaining health, and this was over in 7 Rounds.

Battle #3 - Win
Ruleset - Holy Protection / Ferocity / Up To Eleven

Sand Worm was the unsung hero here, chipping away at my opponent from behind while praying my front lines could hold long enough to secure the victory. Playing Thaddius here helped keep Obsidian in check or else the magic damage would have gotten to me much sooner. This took 9 Rounds, but I came out victorious!

Battle #4 - Win
Ruleset - Counterspell / Aim True / Melee Mayhem

The one was a total group effort and they made pretty quick work of my opponent. Cursed Windeku took a beating, but held strong with some help from Astral Entity's Resurrect. While that was happening Sand Worm, Sha-Vi and Whistling Damon picked apart my opponent from behind until there was nothing left. 3 Rounds is all it took for this win

Battle #5 - Win
Ruleset - Fog of War / Counterspell / Close Range

It's General Sloan vs. his doppelganger in this last battle. My opponent plays Martyr Rat up from and I walk right into it due to Fog of War and boosting their Drybone Barbarian. It wasn't enough however as my Chaos Knight takes it's 6 damage like a champ, only allowing 3 damage through thanks to Shield. Then, Primologist, Corsair Bosun, and Pelacor Arbalest completely wipe him out. After that, it's just a matter of taking down each of his ranged attackers one by one. This was all over in 3 Rounds.

5-0 Clean SWEEP!!!

Needless to say, I'm extremely happy with this result. Although I've swept before, I'm pretty sure this is my first time sweeping a Gold Foil Fray in Tier 2.
