This Morning

The bed felt too comfortable to leave. Staying up all night only profits by selling the next day short. Upright, thumbing the smartphone on Twitter, unrelated nonsense entered the mind. Of course, the activity lent itself to building a following on the website; some activities do not require active monitoring unlike child supervision. The device, the media- neither had a direct relation to the values this author concerns himself with.

The Values

include, but aren't limited to:

• beauty & freedom: opportunities for pictures boil down to these themes
• innocence: childish wonder locked within consoles and games of old represent youth and unfulfilled experiences
• expression: though a double-edged sword at times, fashion and decor lend themselves to capturing a self-portrait, the picture of the individual this artist sees in himself

As such, one can rightfully argue, remaining in bed an hour or so "building a following" hardly helped the cause. This assumption would, in fact, be correct had the aforementioned lolligagger not found this:

if you are a highly self-motivated person, bet on yourself & take more (perceived) risk than your peers.

The chances of you succeeding are much higher than you think.

Data suggests that working for anyone other than yourself might prove... less fruitful.

As the tweet suggests, maybe you oughta bet on yourself... Betting that your job might humor your humble request to mitigate the commute and thus remain more productive is... a bad bet.

In fact, it seems negative headlines might confirm, the employee-employer relationship is broken. The topic of gun legislation aside, the suspect who killed 4 in mass shooting at Louisville bank believed to be former employee, police say.

Unemployment, all things constant, might represent an opportunity to employ oneself. This author certainly does not condone violence in retaliation to another's actions.

Ambition and vocation, workers and bosses, these stories and anecdotes aren't to dismiss one side or the other. Rather, consider how one might improve their own station off merit alone, like the Beane and Brand from Moneyball.
