We hardly ever question love until there is a problem and we cannot get to the thing we love. We never think about why we love a person, an animal, or an activity until that person, animal, or activity is not around anymore. At that point all we can think about is how much we love it.
For me, the greatest love of my life is my family. They provide love and support for me and always there no matter what goes wrong or right. I do not know what I would do without them, and with God's grace there will never be a time for me to find out.
We should all think about what we love and why because it reminds us how blessed we are to have things to love how fortunate we are that these things continue to be in our lives.
I am thinking of these things now because many people close to me have recently lost close relatives or animals, or an ability to participate in activities they love. Many of them have regrets over things they didn't say or do, or in the case of an activity because they did not participate enough. the moral is to use today to get as much out of the things that you love as possible.
If it is your mother, father, wife for children spend time with them and tell them all the time how much you love them and appreciate them. Never let a day pass with you being angry with them. Make sure that before your day ends you call them and forgive them and tell them you love them.
If it is an activity, do it every free chance you get, because you never know when you won't be able to do that activity anymore. If it is an unhealthy activity you should of course limit the amount of time you spend doing it because it can ruin your life.
The key is to understand that love is a gift that each of us is lucky to receive and to be able to give.
So take a minute and think about it. What do you love and why? When you can answer this question pick up the phone and call someone you love and tell them, hug your dog, or do that thing you love. You'll be happy you did.
