I've started increasing my cardio time lately.
I'm trying to get 3km a day in, I normally walk on the treadmill at the gym, around 10 minutes before and 15-20 minutes after working out. It's making me feel a lot healhtier.
The first 10 minutes I can do fine, but the 15-20 after working out are really difficult. When I get to those I'm usually already tired and want to go home to have dinner, but I got to push through it.
Cardio has some superb health benefits, it reduces the risk of so many diseases, especially heart related diseseas, and increases the blood flow to the brain, which in turn increases neurogenesis, which is probably one of the hardest things to increase, the production of new neurons and the growth of the ones that we have.
In two days I'm thinking of doing a just cardio session, going to hop on a bike and do around 25-30Km with some friends. I've been thinking that it would be a good idea to record those sessions and put them online without showing my face, I just need to get a camera, a Go Pro maybe. We normally ride different roads all the time. And the roads we travel are usually a lot of fun, especially when we go off-road!
Last time we went we did 25Km, where 7 of those were off-road. It was an awesome but painful experience. My legs were burning after it. Off-road is much more difficult than road. We had to jump fences and we even rode through cattle... And my wheel got caught on fence wiring which almost killed me! Oh, Good times!
