Before the government lockdowns of 2020, I was in the best shape of my life! I don't go to gym's so it was calisthenics that included light parkour, body weight exercises and my favorite! This set of stairs. 702 steps up the Hamilton escarpment, that I was doing 4-7 times daily.
When the lockdowns hit, the gym's closed and I thought oh great the stairs are going to get really busy. But what happened was the city closed and literally barricaded the stairs off. To keep us all healthy lol. They remained barricaded for nearly 2 years and I got a ticket for being out in public places without a valid reason (keeping fit during a virus that mainly effected overweight and older people wasn't valid enough) that was $885! I refused to pay and still haven't to this day.
But all of that nonsense and being busy with other life stuff totally knocked me out of my "groove" and slowly but surely I worked out less and less. Now here I am 4 years later with an extra 40 pounds on me.
Now is the time to change that and I finally got back on the stairs this weekend and it felt amazing! My health journey is getting back on track.
