My 5 year old son absolutely loves Crazy Golf/ adventure golf/putt putt hiwever you term it. He loves it.
This makes me happy as i am not a football fan by any means but i do like a good round of golf when i can.
Who would have thought my 5 yr old would get more hole in ones than me! And i dont mean that to sound like im the best in the world as i am not, but generally adults tend to be slightly better than 5 year old children at most things.
So, last weekend i bought him his first kids set of clubs (it does have a putter too)
And took him to a 9 hole course thats local to us, nothing special but still a good selection of holes to play. NG1Golf.
He did really well concidering it was his first attempt at using an iron and a driver. In fact shot more straight shots than i did! He loved it.
After that we decided that maybe a few lessons would help him progress and would define if he actually likes playing or if its just a fad and crazy golf is his thing instead.
Today i booked in at another local business called Golf Garage. It was Awsome!! I dont know who enjoyed it more, me or him!
It was my first ever time at a virtual golf lesson, virtual as in course not instructor.
The guy was very good and showed us the basics and basically let us hit numerous balls at the massive screen in front of us ( check out the photos on their facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/Golf-Garage-1460234267404546/)
He pointed out a few things for me and helped my son get his stance and grip right. Overall for a first experience/ lesson i was well impressed.
The system he uses is totally cool, it indicates speed, flight, head position (club) and far more intricate details that no doubt would help the best of the professionals when required.
The course was superb, clear defined fairways and rough. Just brilliant.
My son did not want to come away, and to be honest, i could have spent all day there it was that good.
If you havent tried one of these systems or exoeriences i can only advise that you do.
Even if its just for fun, go with a couple of others and enjoy! I certainly plan to go back and certainly take my son for some more lessons there.
