The 1st Rule of Hive:
Rules are made to be broken.
I haven't drunk so much since Staff Xmas party 2019. I am a little bit drunk...
However, if I go to bed now, my head will start spinning and I will end up being ill. So, I should grab some water (on my to-do list) and then sit around for a while and wait for my head to clear. If you want to play a drinking game, you could have a sip at every typo. There are many and I am sure I am not going to get them all in my edit.
Every year (2020 excluded due to Covid), the company I work for gets a relatively famous Finnish band to play the event. The Finns love this, but it means that generally the live music is in Finnish and the foreigners don't get much out of it. This year was much the same, and it was a well-known rapper - Elaastinen.
I don't assume anyone has heard of him.
It was okay.
I recognize many of the songs from the radio over the years, but the people from "out of country" couldn't really get into the groove of it.
It was fun to have a few drinks with people and I bought a couple rounds too. The prices were "insane" even for Finnish prices, but it has been so long since I have bought a round, that I think it was worth it. There was a show put on by flair bartenders (Like in the movie cocktail) and then they were making drinks for the crowd. How can I turn down a mojito?
The other thing I enjoyed was seeing people "out of context", as normally I see the business side of them - not the "tropical party" side where they are dressed up and have a few drinks behind them. It was a lot of fun and as usual, it is the quiet ones you have to look out for. I think our IT department are the ones that let loose the most, but our coders weren't far behind.
I am crazy tired though, since the last two days have been pretty heavy workshopping for 2022 and I have been heavily involved. Today's session, I doubled down a bit on the "taking the power" position, just to see if I have what it takes and really enjoyed the brainstorming session as facilitator. I think I would like to do more of that again.
It was also interesting as a friend (who knows I blog and tracked my Hive account down) asked if writing was the thing that I was the bet at. I actually don't know, but it is one of the things I enjoy the most to do in my life. As a hobby, it is fantastic. She also asked what the main topics I write about and I think this is harder to answer, as I tend to "bundle" topics together, as I think this means that for example, I can frame something I want to talk about with something the audience finds interesting.
For example, I don't think most people are interested in really understanding their psychology, but if framed through the lens of investing, people are far more engaged. I find value in reading this kind of content, so it only makes sense that it is what I try and create.
Okay.. I am still too far from sober to go to bed, so I will try to do the Splinterlands quest for the day. It is a "sneak quest" so I have a chance... even in my state.
BTW, If I can write this with a drunken head spin, I think the average person can write something decent.
