It has been a pretty mixed-up weekend and I am tired. The main reason is that while we had an electrician come a couple weeks back to sort out our heating going off all the time, the problem hasn't been fixed and we have gone through 15 fuses in the last few days. The temperature has been cold, so I have to keep changing them so we don't freeze to death in the middle of the night. My CPAP machine is attached to the same circuit as the fuse that burns, so it is a "warning" system when it goes in the middle of the night, because I start to suffocate.
Pretty bloody annoying.
This is why I am falling behind in commenting quickly enough, but I will catch up as things improve at home and I have a mind for it. But, there is no rest for the wicked, as we had a family 30th to go to tonight, which was a proper garage party. Not quite like back in the day when I was a teen with people drinking too much at some, or very stoned at others - but there was a live band playing (a hobby band of doctors) and some food and drink.
I didn't know many of the songs.
And Smallsteps didn't know what to think about her mother rocking out to them. Though, she is never embarrassed by her mother - but unfortunately the same can't be said for her father. Very little I do is not either embarrassing or annoying apparently.
My job is done.
Ear protection for the little ones of course.
Smallsteps did know a few of the songs, which is funny as they were mostly all eighties rock hits. It is kind of strange in Finland though as even relatively young people know all of the old Finnish music, because it is on repeat everywhere, in every bar, every concert and no one lets it die. Eighties and Nineties rock is alive and well in Finland. But by ten pm, Smallsteps was getting a bit tired and since we have a puppy at home that can't be alone for more than a few hours at a time, we called it a night and let the young and young at heart knock on a little longer.
But yeah, I am pretty tired and somehow out of sorts, so hoping that I am not getting sick, as pretty much everyone around me the last few weeks has been sick and there are plenty of flus going around. I thought I was succumbing last week to one, but I pulled through with only a little slowdown, but without rest, I don't think my immune system is going to be able to play defence for too much longer.
Saturday night or night or not, it will be a pretty relaxed and early one for me.
How about your weekend?
