There are probably a few people that feel that they have got it in the bottom of late.
But, is the bottom in?
I am not so sure about that, but I have been buying some HIVE with some HBD anyway - just in case. Like normal, I am probably too early and in a day it will be 50% lower and in single digits. Yet, does it really matter?
I think I am fatigued.
Anyone else?
At least for me, the way I feel has quite a big affect on the way I trade, which is why I try to set buys and sells when I am feeling somewhere in the middle, not overly positive or negative. This way, I try to mitigate the extremes where I am more likely to trade emotionally, which tends to be poorly in my case. Though I miss highs and lows that maximize, I end up getting what I expected was good at the time. So if for instance I buy HIVE at 18 and it goes to the current 16, while I missed getting about 10% more HIVE, the expectation I had at 18 is that it will still be worth it in the longrun.
If however I am looking for a percentage gain of 50% I am going to have to wait longer for that return. Buying at 18 means the price would have to get to 27, buying at 16 means it would have to get to 24, which is a significant difference. And then of course, if it gets to 24 and I hold to 27 anyway, then it is an even bigger difference in gain.
Hold?
The current dip in the markets isn't about crypto though, it is just a response to the markets as a whole, as there have been massive wipeouts across the board. I wonder if traditional traders get weary of the grind, or is it just the crypto people who have a far faster cycle, and there is no rest on the weekends either.
Twenty four seven, three sixty five.
Of course, paying attention all the time is frightfully unhealthy, so unlike the first year or so I was trading, I don't actually pay that much attention overall. I think that especially since I had the stroke three years ago, I have paid a bit less attention to the market daily fluctuations, unless I hear something through the grapevine. Like this morning, one of my colleagues dropped me a message about "crypto surprises" often arriving on Monday mornings.
Okay, okay. I'll have a look.
OOh. 49,000 on BTC. That is pretty low. I suppose. Who's to say? Bought at 100, 100, or ten thousand and 49K is very high - bought at 70K and well, a different story. Should have sold for a small loss, a big loss, a small gain, a big gain, a massive gain - it is all about that first buy-in. But one thing is for certain, If you don't hold something, you gain something. You can't lose either.
Lots of people who didn't lose out there.
But, for how long? How long will it be until the majority of people have crypto exposure? We all know that the banks manipulate their industry to continually make gains and they are always keen to take advantage of a new industry, a new financial vehicle. And they have been poking their nose and dipping their toes for a long time already. The next few years are going to be interesting to say the least.
Lots of winners and losers.
I am hoping to eventually make it into the winners circle, but in order to do so, I have to stay in the race. As said though, I am getting tired at times, and that makes me do silly things. And what ends up happening is regardless of whether the bottom is in or not, I get spanked.
Maybe I like it?
