Abu Thalhah came to apply for Umm Sulaim. Ummu Sulaim replied, "O Abu Thalhah, your people do not deserve to be denied, unfortunately you are infidels and I am a Muslim, I can not marry you." Abu Thalhah replied, "Not that you mean?" Ummu Sulaim said, "Then what do I mean?" Umar Sulaim said, "I do not expect gold and silver, I want Islam from you.
