A mouse
building a room inside it.
No walls.
No roof.
Only warmth.

Life says: shelter.

Quietly.
Without permission.
I walk past.
Count steps.
Count nothing.
Somewhere behind me
a small body learns
how to survive winter.
Without plans.

Just by paying attention.
