En mi país, hoy lunes 12 de febrero y mañana martes 13, son días feriados no laborables porque se celebra el Carnaval, con desfiles en vistosos trajes, bailes y conciertos.
Los venezolanos somos muy rumberos, así que cualquier ocasión es buena para festejar, hay Estados en los que se exhiben atuendos hermosos en los desfiles o comparsas, más, en la ciudad donde vivo, éstas son sencillas, aún así, aprecio mucho el esfuerzo que hacen esas personas para salir a regalarnos un poco de recreación.
Hoy no teníamos programado ver las comparsas, sin embargo, después de la práctica de manejo en la que están mis hijos, decidimos quedarnos un rato a disfrutar el Carnaval de la zona. Estacionamos el auto en un sitio relativamente cercano a nuestro hogar y encontramos un buen lugar donde acomodarnos.
In my country, today Monday February 12 and tomorrow Tuesday February 13 are non-working holidays because Carnival is celebrated with parades in colorful costumes, dances and concerts.
Venezuelans are very rumberos, so any occasion is good to celebrate, there are states in which beautiful costumes are exhibited in parades or comparsas, more, in the city where I live, these are simple, still, I appreciate the effort made by these people to go out to give us a little recreation.
Today we were not scheduled to see the comparsas, however, after my children's driving practice, we decided to stay a while to enjoy the Carnival in the area. We parked the car in a spot relatively close to our home and found a good place to settle in.

A short time later, we saw the truck approaching with this year's Carnival queen, along with other queens of the municipality, smiling and waving to the public.
My daughter knows two of them, as they participated together in a contest at her high school. The place where we live is small and it is common for many of them to know each other.

And then I started to run after the people with flashy costumes, who came in the parade. They pass quickly, although sometimes they stop to wait for the people in front, so I was able to take pictures of some of them and not others. En cuanto a mí, me reía de verme corriendo para tomar fotos. Ser fotógrafo debe ser algo divertido y apasionante, a veces me provoca hacer un curso en serio, más que todo por mi blog, porque quiero compartir imágenes hermosas.
When they had the chance, some, like the guy in the photo above, posed for my phone camera. I sensed that they were enjoying their parade and that involves walking a long way, dancing in costumes that most of the time are uncomfortable. I actually admire them.
As for me, I was laughing at the sight of me running to take pictures. Being a photographer must be something fun and exciting, sometimes it makes me want to take a serious course, mostly for my blog, because I want to share beautiful images.
Mis amores estaban también disfrutando el momento, porque aunque es un evento sencillo, lo importante es que estábamos haciendo algo diferente y cuando estamos juntos, sentimos que no nos falta nada.
Me siento afortunada porque mis hijos siempre saben divertirse, aún cuando se trata de un día normal con cosas cotidianas; para ellos, cualquier ocasión es buena para reír.
My loves were also enjoying the moment, because although it is a simple event, the important thing is that we were doing something different and when we are together, we feel that we are not missing anything.
I feel lucky because my children always know how to have fun, even when it's a normal day with everyday things; for them, any occasion is a good time to laugh.
Desde la primera a la última comparsa transcurrieron 15 minutos, porque no habían muchas, pero fueron suficientes para regalarnos alegría y contagiarnos de la buena energía que tenían quienes bailaban en la calle.
Mi hija estaba tan contenta, que nos dijo a su papá y a mí que la lleváramos mañana a un municipio vecino, para ver su desfile de Carnaval. Probablemente vayamos, mañana veremos. Es lo bueno de tener hijos, que no te permiten quedarte inmóvil.
From the first to the last comparsa it took 15 minutes, because there were not many, but they were enough to give us joy and to infect us with the good energy of those who danced in the street.
My daughter was so happy that she told her dad and me to take her tomorrow to a neighboring municipality to see their Carnival parade. We will probably go, tomorrow we will see. That's the good thing about having children, they don't let you stand still.
