I ran across a post a few months ago which mentioned that tipping system should on steemit. I really liked the idea and thought about making a post myself but somehow I forgot. While I was thinking, what should I post today, I happened to open publish0x. I immediately realized that I was supposed to make a post on tipping system.
I have had an account with publish0x right from the start and I am also a verified publisher there. They only allow quality content creators to be publishers and I am one of them probably because of the fact that they don't have many. I saw some excellent posts there which were tipped in the range of $3-7. I know this amount isn't big but if tipping is introduced on steemit, it might make a big difference. The tipping system will add an extra source of revenue to the content creators and may well lead to mass adoption.
We know that the price of any cryptocurrency can fluctuate and if it is dipping, it demotivates many authors and they stop posting. We have seen this happen on steemit as well as many content creators left only because the price of steem was going down.
If tips are introduced on steemit, it might help in retaining existing users and bring in new ones as well. Tipping system doesn't work like normal voting here on steemit. They are free and everyone can use them irrespective of the stake they are holding. Tips are sponsored and come from the sponsors. Most of the tipping is in the form of stable coins like USDT, DAI etc but I have also seen BAT tips as well. It doesn't matter which coin it is, what really matters is that if we have a tipping system here, it will surely be a great addition.
I don't have enough knowledge about tipping and I just thought that it would be really cool if we have tipping system here as well. Do correct me if I'm missing something.
