At a glance

• What happened: Basis Desk released Basis Desk Verify, a free Chrome extension that brings our source-verified coverage and primary documents to any crypto web page.
• Why it matters: Readers can check a claim against the original documents in seconds instead of trusting a headline, a screenshot or a post.
• Who is affected: Anyone who reads crypto news, posts or token pages in Chrome, Edge or Brave, in seven languages.
• What's next: Listings in the Edge and Firefox add-on stores are next; feedback goes to [email protected].

Key points

• Basis Desk Verify is a free Chrome extension: click its icon on any crypto article to open a side panel with our verified coverage of the same story.
• It lists the primary documents the page links to, live prices of the coins it mentions, and a one-click scam check for any token contract on the page.
• On request it compares the page's key claims with the sources and labels each one: matches, differs, not covered, or opinion.
