She looks so sweet and cuddly, doesn't she? Most of the time she can be but then there are those moments when the claws come out.
Well, the other morning at 6 a.m. she tried to wake me up to pet her. I was not having it so she nipped at my hand with one of those love bites to let me know I needed to pay attention to her.
I told her no and went to push her away and wowza, that love bite turned into a full-out attack. She bit me so hard and would not let go. When I got her off my hand the blood was running down my arm. I had 3 small punctures and one really deep one on my wrist.
Yep, it was one of those long fangs that did the worst damage. Needless to say, by mid-day my wrist had swollen around the wound to the size of a quarter. The infection had taken hold and I needed to start soaking it with hot water and sea salt. I had to keep massaging the infection out of my wrist and soaking the hand 2 to three times a day. After day two most of the infection was gone but I still kept soaking it and putting an anti-bacterial ointment on it.
It is now day 4 and the wound is still red around the bite with a tiny bit of infection left. I think it is going to be another three days before the wound totally closes up and the soreness goes away. This has been an eventful week with my Ragdoll that decided not to be so sweet after all.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
