We meet again tonight at 9:52 PM. Time flies, but the happiness and energy after a long day are still abundant, so I had to sit down in front of the screen and record some good stories in this blog post to share with everyone.
Today was another exciting and challenging day for me, as a small Thai food vendor at Pantip Market on Koh Phangan, Surat Thani Province β a place known for attracting tourists from all over the world. Opening my shop and welcoming customers, both locals and foreigners, each day is like a stage for me to showcase the charm of our cuisine.
My strategy is to win hearts through "tasting" and boost sales through attentive service.
Selling food to foreigners who may not be used to spicy flavors isn't easy. But my approach to introducing it starts simply with "eye contact" and a "Siam smile." When I see tourists walking by, or showing interest and stopping to look, I won't let the opportunity slip away. I'll call out and invite them to try Thai food immediately.
My technique is to guide customers through the spiciness and flavor levels of my dishes ππ§π»βπ³
I start by introducing them to Tom Kha Gai, a mild and fragrant coconut milk-based soup that's easy to eat.
Then I move up to the more intense Massaman and Panang curries, both mellow and flavorful.
For a bit more challenge, I offer the spicy, authentic Thai Green Curry.
Finally, I recommend various stir-fried dishes β₯οΈπ«°π»
And a major sales booster is that once customers choose their favorite curry, I suggest pairing it with a fried egg, a fried vegetable, or colorful stir-fried vegetables. Most customers are lovely and follow my advice, significantly increasing sales per dish. Seeing them enjoy the meal and their eyes widen in surprise at the taste is a truly exciting and proud feeling for the cook.
Tiring but worth it... The joy of selling out!
From early morning until late at night, each day requires immense physical and mental energy to sell all the food. But today... I did it again! All the fatigue vanished instantly when I saw the empty food trays. Selling everything and returning home with a smile and a sense of accomplishment is the most wonderful feeling. β₯οΈπ₯°
My body might be tired now, but my heart is still full of joy and ready to fight on.
And I'm ready to wake up and prepare delicious food to welcome everyone tomorrow.
