It was a day full of joy and gifts, but what Abraham was most excited about were the Legos. Since he was a little boy, he has been passionate about these construction pieces, enjoying being able to create and assemble everything his imagination allows him to. On this occasion, he received a set of Legos that formed a beautiful car.
Today, December 25th, Abraham woke up excited and determined to start building his new project. He spent much of the day concentrating on this task, while I admired his dedication and skill. To be honest, I was always terrible at putting Legos together, but my son makes it look easy. As he progressed, I took pictures of each stage of his progress, in awe of his talent.
Around 5 p.m., his grandmother came to pick him up to spend some time together. He returned at 7 p.m. and, instead of resting, decided to continue with his construction. It was until 10 p.m. that he finally finished it. I asked him what the hardest part was and he confessed that putting the smallest pieces together hurt his little fingers, but that didn't stop him. He persisted until he made it, and when he finished, he proudly showed his creation to the whole family.
This morning, before we started, Abraham confessed to me that he felt the task was too difficult and thought he couldn't put it together by himself. However, I reminded him how smart he is and encouraged him to try step by step. I told him that by following the instructions and being guided by them, he would succeed. And he did. This made me reflect on how sometimes we ourselves put mental obstacles in our way that prevent us from achieving our goals. That is why I always teach my son to fight for what he wants and to overcome any adversity that comes his way.
