The key here is using the ingredients in the right proportion. If you change the ratio of the ingredients, it won’t give that consistency. So keep in mind the ratio every time you make it. Also, you can choose to garnish with nuts of your choice.
Let’s see how we make it.

15 minutes
| S.No. | Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | Wheat Flour | 1 Cup |
| 2. | Desi Ghee | 1 Cup |
| 3. | Sugar | 0.8 Cup |
| 4. | Water | 1.5 Cup |
| 5. | Almonds | 7-8 Units |
| 6. | Cashew | 7-8 Units |
Step 1: Heat ghee in a pan. Add the wheat flour once the ghee is hot and roast the wheat on low flame until light brown.
Step 2: In a separate pan, make sugar syrup using water and sugar. You can also choose to add 1 TBSP cardamom powder if you like the taste.
Step 3: Once the wheat flour turns brown and the aroma can be felt, add the sugar syrup to the pan and keep mixing on low flame. Make sure the mixing has to be continuous else lumps will be formed.
Step 4: Take out in a wide dish.
Step 5: Roast the nuts in desi ghee in a separate pan and cut them into small pieces.
Step 6: Garnish the halwa with the roasted nuts and serve hot.
