They say that cheap is expensive, that every day we learn something new. I experienced all this in one day. Things that happen once in a lifetime, something that I consider necessary and that I do not regret for anything in the world, it served me as a lesson, maybe today it would have happened to me and it would not be the same reaction.
I went to the market to buy a dozen of corn to make some cachapas and complete them with cachapa flour. What happened? That in the market they don't sell a dozen, they sell you the whole sack for an amount, let's say 10$, half a sack for 7$ and five cobs for 1$. At first glance it would be better to buy the bag, and the prices are basically that, they encourage you to buy more for less, speaking of quantity, because, for money, it is more.
I went through more than three quarters of the market and did not sell the blessed dozen, I was not going to leave empty-handed either. Another option was to call to see which option I could buy, but I'm not lying, I was too lazy to call. After so much walking and seeing who I was buying from, I ran into one of my uncles on my mother's side, who asked me what I was doing here, and I told him everything.
He said, "How much do you need for the jacket? And I told him, he gave me the rest and said, let's buy a sack, we'll put it in the truck, I'll drop you off at your house and you keep half of it for me. At first sight it was a good idea for me so we went. I asked him if he wanted it on the cob or shelled at once, he told me, after you grind it all, weigh it and take out half. When I got home my parents were not home, they had gone out and there were no problems.
When they arrived, the first thing they did was to call me and explain to them what happened. And nothing I told them, and well they thought it was a good idea, they called my uncle and thanked him. The most "fun" moment came, shelling the corn, fun when you start, but when you are tired and you see the sack and there is still half of it left, it is not so much fun, but you started and there is nothing left to do but finish it.
The bad thing about the sack is that you can find ears with traps, ears caught before the time and the result are ears with ripples where you only find at most one corn and the cob all deformed, or even worms inside the cob, but everything has its price in this life.
