With the recent news of DLive leaving the chain, I noticed something interesting...
There's a common murmur in this watery ecosystem of ours: Whales are greedy assholes that don't care about Steem, they just want power & money.
Is that true?
For some of em', sure. Probably. They are humans, after all, and with humans come greed.
But is it true for all?
No. I think this most recent event highlights that.
Regardless of your feelings relating to DLive, Lino, and Steem, the point stands that whales decided to defend Steem.
These people are rich. It would take nothing for them to just wait for their powerdown and transition over to whatever new platform is the current trend. But, they didn't.
They didn't do what you'd expect a greedy asshole to do. They didn't say "What? Steem's dead? Ok, where am I shifting to now?"
They decided to fight.
Look, I'm not an idiot. There's abuse, there's "corruption" [ I use that word sorta lightly ], and there are problems. But just for a minute I want to give a shout-out to all that decided to stand with Steem. Whales, Dolphins, Planktons. You showed your true colors today.
I'm proud to stay with you, wherever that may be, and however that may turn out.
#MaybeNotAllWhalesAreGreedyAssholes
yo, by the way, I know I've been making "short"-ish posts lately. Soon I'll have more content-based stuff to show you. Right now it's all in the framework stage, however, and there isn't much to talk about. I thought it might be fun to fill the gap with some hot-takes and... !pancakes ;)
any ways, like I said, expect some cool content coming up soon. games, comics, free stuff, oh my!
Take Care :^)
