Hello! I hope you have a nice month ahead! This drawing I am sharing today is called "dawn" and so I guess it is perfect to post it by dawn. Thanks to the schedule feature of Peakd!

Last year, the fan arts I drew were mostly a band and a girl group. If you always see my art posts here, you know who they are. Lol. It's been awhile since I get to draw a LiSA, my first favorite Japanese solo artist. She's a pop and rock singer who is best known for being an anime song singer. If you've seen a couple of those popular anime, you've probably heard one of her songs already.

There's a lot of fan arts I've planned for LiSA but I can only do very few because her outfits are a bit complicated to draw. I get tired just by thinking of drawing them. But finally and surprisingly, I have mustered up some motivation to draw a LiSA fan art when LiSA released the music video for her song weeks ago.

The song is called "dawn", a song for the anime Back Arrow.

As I've mentioned LiSA's outfits are kind of complicated so in my drawing I made her turn her back instead. She looked cool on the video and the burning wood sticks arch looked very awesome too. It's so difficult to resist not the draw it.

I tried to mimic the stage while LiSA turns her back while holding her left arm. I was aiming for a vibe of desire for change though I'm sure if I have done it well to relay the message. The angle of her head looks weird for me after staring at for several times, It's a bit small as well but I've watched somewhere that the beautiful proportion of the body is that the length should be 7 to 8 times of your head. Meanwhile, her feet looks big in my opinion. I tried reducing the size of her legs and feet but in the end, I liked her with long legs still. I had a difficult time choosing the right colors for her fur jacket too.

I'm still bad at drawing character poses but I'm worse at drawing fire and reflection in my opinion. Haha. I'm doing what I can right now and I wish I could improve on it soon. For now, this is how I draw a burning wood and light reflections on skin. Adding more glow is the way to go! Lol.

Well, if you look at this zoomed in drawing of her face, you'll see the messed up drawing of light reflection on her face. It's frustrating but I got to look on the positive side so I don't get sad. I love how I drew her face even though she doesn't look like LiSA. I posted the lineart of the face on my story on Facebook and someone said it's beautiful. I really appreciate it. :)

Here's the music video where I based my drawing from:

Not being biased, but I think this is one of her coolest music videos she has made. I really like her music videos with her band in it. It also looks like the video was shot at the beach so I assume this was recorded along with the music video of her other song, "Homura" which was released a few months ago. The camera movements are also nice.

Drawing Process

Here's the drawing process for this drawing:

If you notice, the size of the character on the final drawing is larger than the others. That's because her hair was blending with the color wood on the background. I put effort in drawing and coloring her hair and it will just camouflage with the woods? No way! Lol. Aside from that, I think it's better the make her bigger so the other details will at least be noticeable even without zooming in,

Medium: Digital (Wacom Intuos Comic)
Program: Clip Studio Paint Debut
Time: Approximately 6 Hrs.
Gif made on Adobe Photoshop CS6

That's all for this post. For people like me who are struggling on improving their drawing, let us not be afraid of making mistakes or drawing ugly. Drawing is a journey and we just have to enjoy the process. :)
