I SWEAR it will be a quick blog today! Yesterday's was supposed to be quick and ended up being one of my longest!
So today was fairly uneventful, largely because last night was terrible. I couldn't sleep, I ached and my mind wouldn't stop racing through projects - I blame IKEA! So at 2am I gave in, got up and... well lets just say when @scarletleonard saw me in the morning she had some loving yet deeply insulting words to describe me.
At 2am I, very quietly, tore out a kitchen cabinet. Giving everything a good scrub down behind there and fishing out all the things that had fallen down the side of the oven (it's not a built in) I then started assembling the "Hyllis". For a tired, grumpy and aching man this was quite the ordeal. It's a metal frame, the screws are all self-tapping and the screwdriver I had didn't quite fit right.
Around 5am I gave in, just as my daughter woke up crying. A drink, cuddles and an hour later I made it to my own bed and managed a couple of hours sleep before getting up, grabbing a shower and starting work.
@scarletleonard collared me to take down the wall unit so the Hyllis would go back against the wall and we culled some of the cups. One day we will have an organised kitchen, it's getting closer (probably just in time to sell the house!).
I've also been watching the awesome Tabitha Lyons, from ArtyFakes, over on Twitch () as she's doing a D. VA Overwatch Body Paint stream. She's an incredibly talented cosplayer who also, along with her dad, runs a business making and selling cosplay props. I can't recommend them highly enough.
So what's the plan for tomorrow? Well I'm spending the morning playing Pokemon Go (and getting some exercise!) then visiting my parents with @scarletleonard. I'm on the scrounge for a drill to do some jobs around the house since mine won't hold a charge any more. After that I'll be off to see a friend of mine for a day of chatting, playing games and eating takeaways (hence the exercise). I'll try to get some pictures of the games we play (if any - we often just end up talking!) for tomorrow's blog.
