I was having a rough day, nothing so serious just the usual weather shift, and my immune system giving up so easily. So decided to watch something of comedic nature. Most of the time, I prefer to watch something gloomy, because why not? Those movies work best for me, but hey, change is good. And I was right about it.
First minute in, and I laughed. "I wanna thank you for going to bat for me last week." Not once, not twice, but thrice. Lol. Seriously, the language can be offensive; it surely is. But it says "18+" and I am way over from that necessity.
One thing before I move forward. I have no idea what I am going to about the my usual and most favorite - the analysis part, as this is my first comedy genre write up. So let us see how it turns out.
The Plot.
The story revolves around Griswold Family. Rusty, the main character, is now a grown up man, and a pilot. He has a beautiful wife - Debbie, who really cares for him, and two sons, James and Kevin. James is a big brother, kind of bookish and nerdy character. Kevin, on the other hand, is quite the opposite, a bully. And maybe a spoiled child. The character of him really not the type we people usually love. And it proves that little kid really nailed his character. But he was the oxygen of the movie.

So, in order to bring his family closer, Rusty decides to recreate a family vacation which he remembers from his childhood.
A road trip to Walley World.
This is where the real Dhamaal (meaning adventorous fun, as it seems like a Hollywood version of it) begins. But we have a problem - actually problems - Rusty does not know how to plan or work according to plan.
They set off in their strangely looking and functioning rented car. And the trip turns out to be a wild experience. From one bizarre moment to another, from uncomfortable and embarrasing situations to literal humiliation. For instance, the Chug Run part where Debbie competes and proves to be a baddie of her era, and what happened next is just humiliation. Or the truck part, that lady dying. And there is my favorite of all: GPS man speaking i.e. shouting in Korean.
(Underrated scene)
Every thing he tries for his family turns out to be the worst.
Eventually after all the great adventure they get successful in reaching the Walley World. The last fighting scene was fun too, at least Rusty along with his family really enjoyed their real nature.
The Analysis Part.
Okay, I am not going to say that it is a masterpiece. It is just a good movie, with some language stuff and funny scenes. Is it family-friendly? Well it depends for the most part. Maybe GenZ will like it more, or maybe not. But I did enjoy it for the most part. I really had a good laugh.
Then there are few lessons, not deeply rooted. But I doubt anything goes without teaching us something.
Most important one is: the family bond.
This is not a typical family. Everyone has their different tastes, yet they all somehow try to be supportive towards each other, especially Rusty, just in bit awkward and unusual way. There are ups and downs, just like any family out there. But the best thing is to do is to accept those and reach out a sort of agreement. For the most part, they all are just trying to escape from it. Until, they just let it all out. THis letting out thing is necessary, otherwise consider yourself a robot and nothing else. When we talk about family; we have to accept each other being each other.

The movie has a happy ending. And those words are enough to prove that they love each other. Rusty may have some rusty approaches toward the things, but he never give up trying. That trying part makes him a supportive husband and a father. The lesson is there to learn to enjoy and live with imperfection. Personally, I think the term "perfect" is flawed. Because nothing is perfect; nothing will ever be. Exclude this flaw term, and you will live a good life.
In the end, it is okay to enjoy some ridiculous nature. Some silly nature, let yourself be embarassed. Because, it is the journey, and of course, the destination as well that matters. Those ridiculous and silly moments will always stay with you. A boring and usual trip will just be a trip. The embarassing moments will remain with you, even when you are in the restroom.
