It was first established in the year horicum that the cranberries would bog with the frogs. The frogs were very much in favor of this, the cranberries not so much so, because the frogs always ate the cranberries before they had reached Ascension and it was frustrating to be nearly to heaven and not quite make it. Heaven was a cranberry soufflé. The cranberries always aspired to a soufflé and darn it all if the frogs just didn't eat them up before they could be picked and processed and so on and so forth until they reached Ascension. It was a shame, but as I said, the frogs were quite pleased because they had been starving in the creek for some time now, and they were ready to eat their fill, and couldn't the cranberries just come up with a new faith and find their Ascension in the frogs' tummies? Perhaps in time, that is what happened, or what would have happened, if the whole world hadn't ended, on that one timeline, at least. Perhaps in another timeline, not this one, that is exactly what happened and the frogs and the cranberries learned to live harmoniously in the bog. But in this timeline, the world ended. It shrunk into itself and we were all smooshed into a tiny ball of being that eventually exploded again into a new universe, but by then there was no more such thing as a frog or a bog or a cranberry. Maybe there will be again, because there are these strange memories.
