I just finished a 7.245km running that lasted about 0hh:41mm:13ss !
It has been a few weeks since I attempted this route that was standing in for parkrun for me. It is nice and flat on the way to the start at the bottom of West Drive, but then it is mostly uphill on the way out. That never seems to get any easier. There are a couple of short downhill parts, but then you have to run up those on the way back.
I was conscious from the Garmin app updates I was getting in my earbuds that this would not be a personal best, but I kept going to see what it could be. Coming back down the hill of West Drive I gave it what I could, but that last stretch seems to go on a lot longer than it should. Once past the gates I needed to walk for a bit.
This is probably happening in other places, but people around here are leaving out books, DVDs and other items for anyone to take. I guess they are having a good clear--out whilst stuck at home. I have not picked up any of those yet, but someone is getting hold of large quantities of bread that they give away. It is possible some of the shops have an excess. So I picked up a loaf of sliced granary that will do for lunch.
I gently jogged the rest of the way home with my loaf of bread, trying to not squash it. It is going to be another warm day, but it is turning colder tomorrow. We had frost a few days ago that hit some of our seedlings, but I hope we may be past that now. Yesterday I found our first strawberry forming. It is still green, but could be ripe soon.
Enjoy your weekend.
