I just finished a 6.895km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:22ss !

I have been doing some 'not parkrun' runs on recent Saturdays on a 5km route I mapped out. Today I was not feeling up to sprinting. My mood was not helped by it raining and my legs are just tired. Happily the rain eased off as I set out and I just had to dodge the larger puddles.

I still did a similar route to my 5km except I went right round the Fairfield estate and stuck to pavements rather that risking the potentially muddy sections. It was pretty quiet out there apart from a couple of runners, the race-walking lady and others out for a stroll. There was an ambulance and paramedic car outside a house in Fairfield. I hope it is nothing too serious.

The rain held off for most of my run, but started again as I got near home. My lap times did improve as I went on, but the GAP (grade adjusted pace) is more consistent. This route does involve a fair bit of climbing which helps build some strength. That is as much of a climb as I can find near to home. I have thought that I could do hill repeats up West Drive some time.

Circumstance limit what we can do at weekends, but I do need to go shopping and we have another Zoom open mic for our local musicians tonight. I hope others are finding ways to pass the time. It is a good opportunity for exercise and creativity. It will be good to come out of this with some achievements.

Run free and stay well.
