I'm sure plenty of people around the world will say this is nothing, but the UK had its highest July temperatures ever yesterday. I know other places get much hotter, but this sort of trend should be a big cause for concern. UK records have been broken several times in the last few years. It's already causing issues with railways failing as they were not designed for such temperatures. It will affect agriculture and our homes are not built for it. Very few homes have a/c and that can make things worse as more energy is required. The heat can kill a lot of vulnerable elderly people.
We are lucky it is not lasting too long. We have rain again today that has cooled it down.
Some will blame natural variations, but scientists agree we have played a part. This site has plenty of information. A lot of those saying humans are not to blame seem to have vested interests in fossil fuels. Exxon knew the risks decades ago, but kept their research to themselves whilst sowing doubt.
We have to hope there is some chance to reduce the likely effects, but it needs action right now. Some accuse groups like Extinction Rebellion of being extremists, but we should be panicking.
