My friend Dave who loves his whisky was up in Scotland recently and he brought me back a gift for looking after the cats.

It is a mere 5cl, but that is enough for a couple of drinks. I just finished it tonight.

Dinner

I cooked dinner. This was a meal kit from Riverford who we have used for vegetable boxes for years. We have used Hello Fresh, but the Riverford meals involve a lot less waste packaging. They even take the boxes back to use again. We had Vietnamese noodles with tofu. It had lots of spices and a bit of chilli. I kept that to a minimum as my other half does not like it too hot, but it was still a little spicy for her tastes.

Drink

I had my whisky whilst watching The Sandman. It is really good and I may post about it once we have finished it. I know my glass is a bit big, but I had been using it for water and did not see any point in getting another.

Tomintoul is a peated whisky from the Cairngorms. As such it has a smokey taste with a nice mix of flavours. I had a dash of water with it to smooth it off a little. It is not as overpowering as some others I have tasted. I could be tempted to get a bigger bottle some time. It is called a Speyside Glenlivet, named after where it is made. There is a separate distillery called Glenlivet. It seems there are a lot in that area. I ought to visit there some time.

Tomintoul do quite a range of whiskies. There is even a cigar malt for those who like a smoke.

Cheers!
