@detlev started the #metalweekend tag, but he hasn't done a post today yet. I'll post mine anyway. You can do your own post with a selection of rock for others to enjoy.
Steemit's own @mahyardean has a band called Angband in Iran. This song was recorded with singer Tim Aymar to raise funds for some surgery he needs. Voting up his post will help. Tim is a great singer.
The Fierce and the Dead are a band I have seen live several times and I'm seeing them again next month. They make instrumental rock you can dance to. I'd love to see them on Steemit and I will mention it to them. I wasn't at this gig, but it looks like a pretty small venue. That guy leaning on the monitor looks like he's trying to intimidate bassist Kev and there's another guy with earphones in. That may have been to protect his hearing as these guys play loud.
This last one is a blast from the past for me. Back in 1985 I was at Coventry Polytechnic. They had all sorts of bands play there and when I saw Hawkwind were on I had to go, even though I was not really into their music. It was just a chance to catch a classic band. I honestly have not heard the music since then, but Youtube can provide. I do remember the guy with the sword dancing around the stage, but I'm not sure the women were there. I still have a t-shirt from the gig. Dumpy's Rusty Nuts were the support. I saw them again in a Bedford pub. I think Hawkwind are still active, but it may be a different set of people now.
Rock on!
