A couple of years ago I wrote a song that featured a Lego car in one of the verses. It seems I had predictive powers.
There may have been other drivable Lego cars, but I happened to find this on on Ars Technica. I was actually looking for a story I saw recently about the real Bugatti doing 305 mph. I am not really a petrol head, but I can admire good engineering.
The Lego car has over a million bricks and uses 2304 Lego motors to generate 5.3 hp. I expect if it had much more power it would fall apart. It has some metal for the chassis and regular wheels. I hate to think what it would cost to buy as a kit.
A real kit that is still pretty expensive is the new Star Destroyer. Part of me would like it, but I cannot justify the cost or the time needed to build it.
We do have a Lego vehicle in the form of this VW camper that we built a few years back. We have a real camper, but it is the Transporter type and is not currently running.
I loved Lego when I was a kid. We did not have the modern fancy kits as most things used the standard rectangular bricks, but I would make buildings, robots and spaceships. We did not even have the minifigures back then. I had a kit with gears and a motor that was as advanced as it got then. I see what people are building now and am just amazed.
I found Lego fan @brickmanbrad on Steem recently. I am surprised #Lego is not bigger here.
