The year rolls around and so my friend Martin and I make a return visit to the New Bingley Hall for this cosy little guitar show.

It was very similar to last year with a lot of the same exhibitors, and many in the same location. They had swapped things around so that most of the acoustic guitars were upstairs where the demo stage was last year. This meant you could actually hear yourself. The stage was off the main hall, but we never made it there. I don't know who was playing.

There were a few stalls like this full of assorted guitars for sale. Martin was tempted by a couple of Les Pauls, but I just can't justify more electrics.

I had planned to try some acoustics to see what my next upgrade might be. I liked some of the Faith models. Not so sure about the dark one.

I had to try a Martin. These are from their budget range. Sounded good, but I think I can get something more interesting for that sort of money. I also played some that were out of my price range just to see how different they are, and it can be hard to tell really. It's as much about the feel of it.

There were lots of stunning hand made guitars there by small British companies. These by Patrick James Eggle caught my eye. For £2000-3000 there's a lot of choice and you can get something really unique.

There was a whole range based on Brian May's iconic guitar. There were even acoustic and ukulele versions.

I had been looking for a new ukulele, but there weren't too many there and nothing I fancied. The search continues.
