Happy 4th of July to those who celebrate it. As we start the second half of 2025 I thought I would adjust my regular chart to show how things have been going. It is not that great for $HIVE as we were doing quite well as the year started. The decline is by no means unique to us, but we may have hoped for better. We have a cool community with lots of development going on. We just seem to suffer from lack of recognition with some people giving up on it. The low price is not helping with either of those with it ranking pretty low in the masses of crypto projects out there. Do any of those compare when it comes to being social?

Of course some will consider this an ideal time to buy. The issue can be around being able to buy $HIVE. There are some buttons in the peakd wallet. The CC (credit card) option takes you to Transak, but that is not showing $HIVE for me right now.

Other people like to chart things too. @dalz.shorts plotted the staked HP over time going back to the origins of this chain and the amount has not really changed that much. I know that some people keep building their stake with the monthly HPUD challenge encouraging that, but others will cash out whatever they get. I fully understand that some will really need the money, but it might help matters if we could lock more $HIVE away. As well as taking it off the market it allows more people to influence the project.

There is a new section in the @peakd wallet that shows how many witnesses and proposals an account supports. That support is based on your HP, so having more increases your influence. You may even find people asking for it, but I do not do deals for that.

Friday Follows

• This blockchain is over nine years old and writer @ericvancewalton was in on it early. He has stuck with it through all the dramas. I started about a month after him, so my anniversary is coming up.
• @detlev has posted details of a Hive summit in Aachen next month. It looks like venues will be spread over the three countries that meet there.
• One of the most exciting Hive projects is @vsc.network who are building smart contracts. They posted about something this could enabled called Liquid Staking. I have not grasped all the details, but having more ways to invest in Hive is great.
• @meno is working on HiveSnaps which lets you post Snaps from a mobile device. I just tried it from my Android phone and it worked.
• I have often posted about the cool comics we have on Hive. One of those is from @northwestnomad whose funny, nerdy stories will appeal to those into Dungeons and Dragons.

As we start another month I will be generating the #BritList tomorrow. I would like to see people maintaining lists for other countries and I am happy to help with that. I have scripts to do some of the hard work.

What do you hope for on Hive for the rest of this year? Will you be bringing in some friends? They will need help to get started, but it is more fun with people you know.
