The News

As I feared, my excitement over the $HIVE price last week did not last. It has settled back a bit, but still just over 1000 Satoshi. The good news is a big increase in accounts that can be seen in statistics from @penguinpablo and also from @arcange. Much of this may be driven by @splinterlands.

Splinterlands has long been the biggest dapp on Hive. I know they have support for some other tokens, but it still runs on Hive. We need some of these people to look at the other dapps. They could be blogging or making videos about the game to earn.

We need more users and activity so Hive dapps rank better on sites like @stateofthedapps and @dappradar as well as on Alexa. Hive needs better visibility to grow.

Friday Followings

I have been on this blockchain for over five years now and have done a #FollowFriday post most weeks in that time. I have been meaning to extract some statistics from my old posts. I was away for part of this week, but will try to look into that soon. Here are some selections for your delectation.

• @whiterosecoffee have a new coffee with Hive branding. It is produced by one of our fine witnesses.
• @simplegame is working on some Hive games and had some interesting comments on my last post.
• @manclar has done more interviews with musicians featured in @risingstargame. @andrewmusic was the latest.
• I see top guitarist @dreamrafa is back on Hive after some time away.
• If you enjoy comics then you should follow @sidekickmatt. He has two long-running stories plus lots more original art.

The Doghouse

I really do not get what @nathangraham is trying to get from Hive. He has a reasonable Youtube following for his gaming videos, but refuses to accept that posting the same thing to multiple Hive communities is considered a bad thing as it can be done to mine extra rewards. You only get to earn once from a given piece of content and we have the cross-post feature to reach more people.

Just about all his comments are copy/paste junk. @phasewalker appears to be the same person as it posts videos from the same Youtube account, but is not duplicating them (was previously) and is making something. It is allowable to have multiple accounts as long as they are not duplicating content or mis-representing themselves.

People will get much more from Hive if they engage with others. Just throwing stuff out there and hoping will have limited success. I do want to see all types of post here, but it has to be legitimate.

Hive has such great potential, but is still mired in obscurity. We should be doing what we can to remedy that. Bring in new people and support them to keep them engaged.
