I just finished a 22.176km cycle that lasted about 1hh:11mm:14ss !
Another lovely spring day and ideal for cycling. I get the train to work in the morning which involves a short ride to the station, but even then I was fine in t-shirt and shorts. I prefer not to have to take extra clothes with me and it is 'casual Friday' at the office anyway.
I took a slightly longer route than last week, but still managed a quicker average pace. I almost got to 19km/h, but would like to get to 20km/h as we like round numbers. I think I have been lucky so far to not have any punctures or mechanical issues on my rides. I ought to carry some patches just in case. I also need to get some decent lights for the odd times I need to cycle in the dark. This bike has an old set of rechargeable lights with a hand dynamo, but it doesn't seem to retain much charge and you do not want your lights failing on a dark road. The bike actually belongs to my neighbour, but he lets me use it. I do not know much about modern bikes, but I know they can be expensive and I would not know what to go for. This one seems fine to me. Certainly better than the old one I scrapped recently that I had had for ages.
We have a long weekend in the UK, so I may go for a long ride. I think I need to rest my legs from running for a while.
I am combining this with my #FollowFriday post as I do not like to overload my feed. The Steem price has improved a little this week, but it has actually dropped in the @coingecko ranks. The Steemit site rank has stabilised a little on Hypestat, but still languishes at over 5000. It is still top of @Stateofthedapps, but I noticed Drug Wars has disappeared from there. Did they stop using Steem? Note that the Steem dapps only have a few thousand users between them. We need to keep building the community.
Here are some accounts to check out:
- I am still supporting runners
@xorb,
@run.vince.run and
@marenontherun through this month as part of #Tenkminnows. I am looking for other accounts that are close to 500SP and just need a little push to become minnows.
- I know a lot of you follow
@pennsif, but I have to say I have been enjoying his series of posts on things he is doing to save the planet. This is a topic I plan to post more on as it is so important and we can all do something. I just cannot manage a daily post on that.
- I found
@cellomusic91 by his entry in the Open Mic contest. I do like cello music.
- I believe
@blank7 is a friend of 'comic store guy'
@blewitt. I enjoyed his post about disc/Frisbee golf as I played that in my student days. Might be nice to play again if there were a course near me.
- Of course I should also mention
@exhaust whose dapp I am creating this post with. They are still fairly small, but it is a cool service for runners, cyclists, hikers, gym bunnies (strength training) and yoga devotees. Those are the activities it supports right now. Even I can get into the weekly charts for now, but that will change if more people join and I really do not mind.
Please share your own suggestions in the comments or a #FollowFriday post.
