Description from Strava:
I did not have the best sleep last night, but I was up around 7am anyway to get out for a run. It has been sunny lately, but can still be cold at night and it was still overcast then. It was fine for me though. As I set out I was getting some twinges from my right foot, but I carried on and it was fine.
On my way up West Drive a guy came past me and there was no way I would keep up with him. I saw a couple of other runners today. I did the usual loop around Fairfield and it looks like I got quicker as I went on.
When I came back down the hill I tried to keep the pace up. I was hoping to get the average under 6min/km and I did manage that. I am seeing some improvement lately. I am likely to get slower as I get older and so I am competing against that. I like to think that I still have some potential to improve.
I had started off not being too sure what sort of run it would be, but it turned out quite good. Of course I was exhausted at the end, but I soon recover.
Podcast listening was mostly Add to Playlist (BBC). One of the tunes was the original Woody Woodpecker song. That seemed appropriate as I often here those birds around Fairfield. Apparently this song was a huge hit when it came out in 1948. I think the cartoons I watched as a kid had a different version.
