Recently I stopped at the grocery for a few quick items. In the produce area was a couple shopping together...probably aged 55-60.

"You can pick anything you want, because I don't want to hear you fuss about it later," She said with chagrin. He answered not back, but just stood there limply next to her with his shoulders drooped. I could sense he felt ashamed from being berated like that by his wife in public. I could see his shame…then he could see me seeing his shame…it was a sad moment.

How does it happen so often that the One we declare our love And loyalty to before friends and family, the church and/or the state… Disintegrates into an ugly partnership full of bickering resentment and chiding remarks like this?

If I were him or her...my life would be miserable!!

People please! Don't let your relationships degrade like this! To be fair maybe this couple is working hard and going to therapy and trying to get out of this misery. But my sense was...not. My senses told me this was his life every damn day. 😔 Lack of appreciation and constant passive aggressive quips.

Please, If you have issues with your partner, then hash it out. Talk about it. Dig into your shit and try to heal old wounds. If things can't be healed, then I'd say goodbye! But live your life staying in a miserable relationship, stalled in a cesspool of resentments, clinging to your past injustices and inflicting revenge little by little, day after miserable day for the rest of your life like them.
