Louang Prabang is the old capitol of Laos.
It hosts about 50 000 citizens.
It gets it´s name from a Buddha sculpture (Phrabang Buddha) which was brought to the city from Vientiane in 1512.
In 1563 the capitol was changed to Vientiane because of fighting.
The city s home to 33 temples, some of which was built as late as the 1500-hundreds.
