Hey Hivers!
It would be hypocritical to claim that upvotes aren't important to me, to you, to the community as a whole at all. Hive works so that the first surprise and engagement is precisely in rewarding every action in the chain. You won't believe it, my first post garnered 10 cents. It was a shitpost with a photo and my thoughts in 2 sentences. My welcome post garnered $1. That was 1.5 years ago. But I stayed! And I still post to this day. Even more often now than in the beginning. The very idea of paying for our efforts is grandiose. But does it really matter that much to me now how many upvotes I get? I don't know yet, I'll try to figure that out by the end of this post...
What really matters to me is involvement in what I publish. And on both sides. Both mine and at least one person's involvement in commenting on my post. It's the lively and in-depth commentary. When I really feel that the person has dived into my thoughts of the post with me. It really feels and feels good. And it can even be a disagreement with my point of view. Sometimes it's even better, because I'm wrong quite often myself, and I'm glad to get slapped when I don't see some things.
But even more than that, I love the sense of accomplishment when I read a post I've already written and like the result. I publish and move on. Really, that's enough for me right now. My main goal is to do a little better than I can or expected I could.
How was it before?
First of all, it was a pain to write. Would they understand me? Would they like it? And how will they evaluate it?
It doesn't matter at all if you are sincere with yourself when you write. You can spend a lifetime being someone else and even be successful at it. You may not believe it, but I feel such people, both in life and in Hive. My attention doesn't linger long where there is no sincerity. It's like talking to a chatbot or tech support on a script.
- We can't help you now, wait 30 days. Do you like our service?
- No, it's terrible.
- I'm glad you're excited. Have we helped you?
- No! I can't wait that long!
- Don't worry, it's standard procedure. We're doing the best we can. Have a nice day. It was a pleasure to help you.
- OMG...
If the goal is to get a few dollars with minimal effort, that's understandable. Right now, my goal is to get skills and satisfaction from the work I do. And in the future to do it on a regular basis every day. That's how I see my future.
This seems to come from the Bible, but I could be wrong. I heard this phrase the other day from a YouTuber who does cryptocurrency trading. I was very surprised. He really has a deep understanding of these words. I would even add to it: Acceptance and then humility precedes glory. Or even so: Acceptance and humility precedes everything you dream of. I've noticed how favorably I am affected by acceptance. Then that wave is transmitted by the surrounding energy.
The fastest takeoffs I've seen before my eyes have been from people who don't expect anything from their actions. They just did what they liked. They understood it crystal clear and accepted in advance whatever would come to them. Isn't that humility and enjoyment of life? This is a profound thought and a very long one to discuss, if you start to reason. Just go over it in your head a few times, taking it as it comes.
Not as much as it seems at first. If we're talking about making money, you can make money here just by carefully reading other Hivers. And a little savvy. But is that so important if the end goal isn't money? And the end goal is never money. I wrote about this in my post yesterday: Posting Everyday.
Money will come and go, but your knowledge, skills and your personal brand are with you forever. They are invaluable at any time and under any circumstance!
