I think this is a life lesson that took me over 10 years of trying over and over, because I always had this dream that I could do something I genuinely love and still get paid, but, seems like life has a different opinion.
Are we setting people up for failure when we tell them to follow their passion? Is passion even a relevant word?
Even though we might be living in the easiest time to turn your passion into a stream of income, I think most people don't have an idea how consuming, demanding, and exhausting that could be, and how that you literally have to fight for years to achieve that.
So, it seems to be that this might be an end-goal, a destination, but never a starting point. It could be something you aim to achieve in the future, but it should never be your first step.
This feeling might be quite destructive for me; feeling that maybe everyone was right and I was delusional. Maybe everyone else was mature and I was yet a child chasing something unattainable.
I wouldn't say I have lost hope at all, but at least I've lost most of it, and I wish I would get back to becoming this perpetually cheerful, positive and motivated person. I even wonder if I could still get back to this version of myself.
